My wife and I have enjoyed the Red Geranium for over thirty years. It has had its ups and downs, but this past Saturday evening was definitely a very good experience. We invited friends to join us for the evening and we were not disappointed. We dined on the patio. We started with two appetizers, the fried green tomatoes and sautéed Brussels sprouts. Both were very good. One of our friends also had the creamy potato soup, which he enjoyed. Three of our party had the prime rib special, and I had the chef’s special, breaded shrimp served on a bed of sautéed spinach with smoked cheese grits. The shrimp had the taste and texture of fresh shrimp, and the spicy tomato jam was an excellent accompaniment. The three others all spoke highly of the prime rib. Two of us ordered the fresh fruit bowl for desert, and my wife ordered the wiggle whiskey cake. My wife and I also enjoyed a very palatable house Pinot Noir. Our server was very attentive, and offered helpful suggestions. It is truly a treasure to have such a nice place to dine with friends in such a rural an isolated location.

The ambiance of the Red Geranium is exceptional, the food delicious, and the service wonderful. We ordered the salmon and scallop dinners – absolutely delicious!
Music and dinner on the patio on Friday evening was great. Breakfast. lunch, and dinner menus are diverse and delicious.
I always stop by this restaurant on my way to St Meinrads Abbey from St Louis. The menu changes seasonally however, the charm and quality of the food and service remain high. The desserts are always incredible.
The food was very good and the service was great. We were there with a large traveling group of BMW owners from St. Louis and they were able to accommodate us all.
