My wife and I have enjoyed the Red Geranium for over thirty years. It has had its ups and downs, but this past Saturday evening was definitely a very good experience. We invited friends to join us for the evening and we were not disappointed. We dined on the patio. We started with two appetizers, the fried green tomatoes and sautéed Brussels sprouts. Both were very good. One of our friends also had the creamy potato soup, which he enjoyed. Three of our party had the prime rib special, and I had the chef’s special, breaded shrimp served on a bed of sautéed spinach with smoked cheese grits. The shrimp had the taste and texture of fresh shrimp, and the spicy tomato jam was an excellent accompaniment. The three others all spoke highly of the prime rib. Two of us ordered the fresh fruit bowl for desert, and my wife ordered the wiggle whiskey cake. My wife and I also enjoyed a very palatable house Pinot Noir. Our server was very attentive, and offered helpful suggestions. It is truly a treasure to have such a nice place to dine with friends in such a rural an isolated location.
